Council selects two to interview for city manager

The Perry City Council plans to interview its top two candidates for the soon-to-be-vacant city manager position, after narrowing the list of applicants down from 14 at a special meeting held Friday.

After lengthy discussion debating which of the 14 applicants met the “minimum qualifications” advertised, city council members agreed to shorten the list to two the council deemed to have met the minimum advertised qualifications for the purpose of conducting additional screening, reference and background checks.
