Commissioners defend use of reserves

During their two most recent meetings, commissioners have defended dipping into contingency funds and made it clear that the county has not depleted its reserves for capital projects and contingency in the current budget year.

At a June 14 workshop session, Commissioner Thomas Demps said he had received complaints from constituents “saying our spending is out of control.”
