Pastor injured in crash

A local pastor, traveling to Gainesville to visit a church member in the hospital there, sustained serious injuries in a two-vehicle crash Monday in Dixie County.

Leon Holden, pastor of First Baptist Church in Steinhatchee, sustained several cracked ribs and a crushed (T-3 neck) vertebrae in the wreck, which happened around 1 p.m. as he was nearing Cross City.

PHOTO: Leon Holden said he experienced severe chest pains and evidently blacked out before he crashed his vehicle into the back to another car and careened into a thicket of woods.
