Christmas killing ‘shattered our life’

Happily tuckered out from an evening spent downtown watching a Christmas parade and visiting with Santa, Elisa (Cannon) Foskey was snuggled deep in her great grandmother’s lap watching “Rudolph” on television when a knock came at the front door.

“I opened the curtain and hollered to Granny that Cousin Marty was at the door. They all gathered in the kitchen, then Granny woke Grandpa up and they left. I remember it was strange that they would leave like that, but I went back to watching ‘Rudolph’ and ‘Frosty.’ Then everybody started coming to the house,” Foskey said. “Then Granny and the preacher came in and sat us down and told us about Daddy.”
