‘Hotel Transylvania 3’ takes the monster fun out to sea

In my review for 2012’s “Hotel Transylvania,” I called the film an “enjoyable, if average, product.” My appreciation of the movie has grown over the years, and when I was writing a quite positive review of 2015’s “Hotel Transylvania 2,” I was surprised by my initial reaction to the original. Likewise, as I prepared to write this review for “Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation,” I didn’t remember my original assessment. (What can I say? There’s three years between each movie!)

Fortunately, the third film lives up to the standard of its predecessors, and while the “Hotel Transylvania” movies won’t be winning any major awards anytime soon, the franchise as a whole is hard to beat for sheer fun entertainment for the entire family.
