    Looking ahead…five decades!

    Running water and flushing toilets are a given in everyday life…and are often taken for granted until problems arise.

    However, the City of Perry is mindful of its sewer utilities, and is being proactive in making sure residents can remain (relatively) worry free for the next 50 years or so with the construction of a new state-of-the-art wastewater treatment plant.

    PHOTO: A 34-person construction crew is hard at work at the sprawling site located at the end of Goff Street on a new 24-foot tall headworks, a massive oxidation “ditch” that will feature 18-foot walls, an expansive “clarifier” and new chlorinator chamber. Construction is expected to be completed by the Spring 2019.
