    City oks new manager contract

    In a split 3-2 vote Tuesday, the Perry City Council approved a compensation package worth an estimated $118,726 for its leading city manager candidate, Taylor Brown of Trenton.

    The proposed employment contract features a base salary of $95,000 and an annual “retainage incentive” that includes health coverage benefits payable directly to the employee if he elects not to join the city’s health insurance plan as well as a $5,000 vehicle allowance with a built-in annual three percent increase.
