Frederic Evitt Vose

Frederic Evitt Vose, Ph.D, was a resident of Taylor County and lived in Steinhatchee for the last five years.

He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from the University of Rhode Island in 1980 and a Ph.D in Oceanography from the Florida Institute of Technology in 1990.

He worked at the University of Florida in Gainesville and the University of Florida IFAS Extension in Perry doing research and field study for the Department of Wildlife Conservation and Environmental Protection. He dedicated his life’s work to the study and protection of the aquatic environment.

He was a thoughtful and gentle man who through his music brought joy to many and for his warm kindness will be missed by all who knew him.
