Writer/director Tommy Wirkola’s “Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters” would have us believe that the fairy tale siblings grew up making a career out of hunting and killing witches. The bloody, R-rated action fantasy film is violent, brazen and funny, but it ultimately works because the movie spend its entire 88-minute runtime with its tongue firmly entrenched in its cheek.
The movie is rated R for strong fantasy violence and gore, brief sexuality/nudity and language.
