On the first and third Saturday of each month, food pantry volunteers gather at First United Methodist Church to extend helping hands to a community in need, providing both physical and spiritual food to some 80 to 120 families.
Each head bows as Dan Anderson leads the gathering in prayer, giving thanks for a new day and new blessings, and a commonly whispered prayer ripples throughout the room: “Thank you God for food to put on the table tonight.”
