Seventh and eighth grade students in the new Taylor County Middle School (TCMS) introductory agriculture courses — “Exploration of Agriculture” and “Fundamentals of Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resource Systems” — have been hard at work the first few weeks of school.
The courses equip students with basic knowledge of various facets of the agriculture industry.
PHOTO: Taylor County Middle School (TCMS) debuted two introductory agriculture courses – “Exploration of Agriculture” and “Fundamentals of Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resource Systems” – this school year. Students enrolled in the new courses spent the first few weeks of the course tilling a large garden area to prepare for planting in the fall (shown above) and learning about the Future Farmers of America organization, general classroom procedures and historical and technological advancements in the agriculture industry.
