Georgia-Pacific’s Foley Cellulose “Foley Fire Brigade” has increased its firefighting capabilities to the “Advanced Interior-Exterior Structural Brigade” level thanks to additional training members received at a local training facility.
The training building, which serves city, county and Foley firefighters, was made possible in part through a $36,000 donation from Foley Cellulose and the Georgia-Pacific Foundation. Taylor County Fire-Rescue provided the inter-model containers (Con- Exes) and the materials needed for construction of the building. The multi-story training facility, equipped with a burn room and sprinklers, was built on a site donated by the City of Perry.
Foley Fire Brigade members Jarrian Thomas, Ty Crowley and Lamar Weatherly recently completed a 40-hour training regiment. Matt Coulliette, Ronald Folsom and Brad McNicol have all completed Live Burn training. Training was led by instructors Michael Fox and Brian Miller.
