    Margree “Margie” H. Hunter

    Margree “Margie” H. Hunter, 83, passed away peacefully at her home Sept. 22, 2018, in Perry. Margie was born Jan. 13, 1935 in Day, Fla., to Jerry Driver and Ida Mae Byrd Driver.

    Margie enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting and camping. She was a hard worker all of her life and loved her family. She never failed to embrace friends as family. Not only did she love to give love, but she loved to be loved.

    Margie’s faith in her Lord was strong; she had a servant’s heart and enjoyed cooking and serving others. She considered it her mission to uplift and encourage others. She loved to sing and was active in her church, and in times past, she was a member of The Messengers singing group.

    Margie was preceded in death by: her husband, Toby Hunter; her parents, Jerry and Ida Mae Driver; five brothers; and one infant sister and one infant brother.

    She is survived by: her son, Lamar and his wife, Tee Hunter; four grandchildren, Timmy and his wife, Chelcy Hunter, Eric and his wife, Amber Hunter, Shawn Hunter and Sunita Baker, and special adopted grandchildren, Taylor Phelps, Cotye Riley and Bill Wright; six great-grandchildren, Zoey Jones, Layne Hunter, Aubrie Hunter, Levi Hunter, Addison Hunter and Haven Hunter; three brothers, Charles and Linda Driver, Louis and Cherry Ann Driver and Carl Driver; one sister, Virginia Johnson; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

    Funeral services will be held today (Wednesday) at 3 p.m. at Perry First Church of God with Pastor Mike Burke officiating. Interment services will follow immediately afterwards in Carlton Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Perry First Church of God. All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
