Charles Kenneth Bush, 90, died Sept. 30, in Mayo surrounded by his family. Ken was born March 2, 1928, in Branford to George Clayton Bush and Mary Lucille McCallister Bush.
Ken honorably served our country in the United States Army. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Southside Baptist Church. Ken retired from Procter & Gamble in 1990 after 32 years. Ken was an avid outdoorsman that loved to hunt and fish; he enjoyed farming and gardening, and grew a many acre of hay, peas, corn and peanuts.
Ken was preceded in death by: his parents, George Clayton Bush and Mary Lucille Bush; two brothers, Wilbur C. Bush and James Bush; and a sister, Mildred L. Fletcher.
He is survived by: his wife of 66 years, Shirley Bush; three daughters, Sharron L. (Craig) Browning, Deborah J. (Carl) Hill and Kim R. (Kelly) Walker; his son, Richard K. (Dixie) Bush; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held today (Wednesday) at 11 a.m. at Southside Baptist Church with Pastor Jack Anderson and Pastor Gary French officiating. Interment services will follow immediately afterwards in Rock Sink Baptist Cemetery in Dixie County. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, at Burns Funeral Home of Perry. All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
