Four Taylor County Jail inmates have suffered drug-related cardiac events in the past six weeks, according to Taylor County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) Maj. Marty Tompkins, who addressed the Taylor County Commission this week about increased medical expenses at the jail.
As board members were discussing the higher-than-expected costs, Tompkins said seveal recent cardiac episodes were among the reasons that jail expenses were on the rise.
