Inmate medical bills increase by $50,000

Although the Taylor County Commission entered a new fiscal year on Monday, Oct. 1, bills are continuing to come due from last year — including higher-than-expected inmate medical expenses at the Taylor County Jail.

As the county’s Oct. 1 meeting, the board voted unanimously to transfer up to $50,000 to help cover the expected overruns in medical expenses and medication costs at the Taylor County Jail.
