According to the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office – Division of Emergency Management, Sheriff Padgett has ordered a curfew following this morning’s mandatory evacuation of local coastal, low-lying areas from Steinhatchee to the Aucilla River.
The curfew will be in effect from 10 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, until sunrise Wednesday, Oct. 10, for the locations covered in the mandatory evacuation. Deputies will allow residents with identification to continue moving and securing their property but non-residents will not be allowed to enter these communities.
Deputies will remain on patrol throughout the night and tomorrow in preparation of Hurricane Michael. A curfew will be in effect tomorrow following the storms passing and notice will be given when it will be lifted.
