    Airport is no longer buzzing

    For approximately five days after Hurricane Michael left a trail of destruction in northwest Florida, the Perry-Foley Airport became a city within a city – serving as a staging area for nearly 3,000 Duke Energy employees and subcontractors working to restore electricity to hundreds of thousands of customers in Florida’s storm-battered Panhandle.

    After serving its purpose for just shy of a week, the local staging site was decommissioned on Monday, according to County Airport Manager Ward Ketring.
