County trims major projects

Now that the Taylor County Commission has finalized its 2018-19 operational budget, the board is turning its attention to what capital projects will be undertaken in the new fiscal year beginning Oct. 1.

At a recent workshop, County Administrator Ted Lakey and Assistant County Administrator LaWanda Pemberton presented the commission with a list of projects scheduled for the upcoming year and asked for possible changes and cuts, noting that several projects have already been pushed back due to the county’s tight financial situation.
