A temporary claims processing center for D-SNAP (Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) will open here Wednesday and process claims through Sunday, and has the potential to have a $2.2 million impact on the local economy.
Details regarding eligibility for the disaster relief claims program — tied to Hurricane Michael — were not available as of presstime, but local officials said assessment teams estimated that some 3,500 residents may apply for benefits.
