The Department of Children and Families (DCF) and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has served an estimated 1,200 local families through two days since setting up a local Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (D-SNAP) office across from First Baptist Church here this week.
Some 599 families were processed Wednesday and “about that many” again on Thursday, according to unofficial numbers provided by DCF officials, who thanked the City of Perry, Taylor County and local law enforcement officials for their support at the “very successful site.”
