Safety concerns prompt action on roadway project

Citing safety concerns, the Taylor County Commission agreed Monday to move forward with resurfacing Contractor’s Road near Buckeye Technologies after learning that it is a public roadway.

The board earmarked up to $200,000 for the project, and will move forward with engineering to determine the cost of adding a third lane to cut down on congestion, which if constructed would be funded by Buckeye.
