At 14 months old, Carl Jordan Melton III–called “Little CJ”–has a smile that could melt your heart.
But that sweet smile doesn’t come as easily these days and the coming weeks promise to be filled with challenges, fears and hopefully, a miracle, for the toddler and his family.
Last Thursday, doctors discovered a malignant brain tumor growing on Melton’s brain stem. Specialists in both Gainesville and Jacksonville said there was little they could do and referred the boy to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
