County dedicates bridge in honor of Holt’s service

Rays of sunshine broke through the clouds as the Rev. Wallace Holmes delivered the closing prayer for the dedication of Rocky Creek Bridge on Woods Creek Road in memory of the late Norman H. Holt – a seeming sign from above on a job well done.

Overcast skies greeted family and friends as they gathered on the roadside near the bridge Wednesday morning for the dedication ceremony.

Holt, including his two sons, Acey Holt and Roger Holt, and daughter, Rita O’Steen, along with daughter-in-law, Brenda Holt, great-grandsons Donnie Holt and Kaden Davis, and granddaughter Heather Davis. County commissioners Pam Feagle, Malcolm Page and Thomas Demps were also in attendance. Holt’s other daughter, Brenda Moss, was unable to attend.
