Who pays the most in taxes?

Over the past year, local elected officials were forced to make tough choices between raising taxes, cutting certain services or pulling money from reserves, as governmental spending, the annual budgeting process and the possibility of property tax increases all made front page news.

The start of a new year brings a whole new list of funding requests and budget demands, making it a good time to take a look at the Taylor County’s top taxpayers who generate the lion’s share of public tax dollars.
