DeSantis names Poppell as new DCF Secretary

Incoming Florida Governor-elect Ron DeSantis announced last week that Taylor County native Chad Poppell will take over as Secretary of the Department of Children and Families (DCF).

Poppell, whose family roots run deep in Taylor County, is the former Secretary of the Department of Management Services (DMS) under former Gov. Rick Scott, and will replace interim director Rebecca Kapusta as Florida’s top advocate for the protection and welfare of children and families.
