    Rabrun Green Palmer

    Rabrun Green Palmer, 75, of Perry, passed away on Jan. 14, 2019, at his home following an extended illness.

    Rabrun was born Nov. 7, 1943, in Cabbage Grove to James Kent Palmer and Minnie Lee Jackson Palmer.

    He attended Taylor County High School where he was a member of the track team. He was of the Christian faith and was a member of The Church of God in Perry. Rabrun worked as a heavy equipment mechanic for more than 50 years with the Florida Division of Forestry and enjoyed playing guitar, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Minnie Lee Palmer; and a son, David Brian Palmer.

    He is survived by: his wife of 54 years, Syble Ann Blair Palmer; one son, Rabrun Michael Palmer, and wife, Shonda, of Tallahassee; three daughters, Rita Palmer Phillips, and husband, Mack, of Covington, Ga., Jessica Nikki Palmer, and spouse, Julie Strawn Palmer, of Perry, Danielle Brown, and husband Stephen, of Perry; two brothers, Bruce Palmer, of Jesup, Ga., and William Palmer, of Perry; one sister, Bessie Bryant of St. Mary, Kan.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 17, at The Church of God with the Rev. Halton Jeffcoat officiating. Interment followed in Pineview Memorial Cemetery. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 16, also at The Church of God in Perry.
