FDLE to assist in investigating shooting death

According to the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) late Thursday, Sheriff Wayne Padgett has requested the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) assist in the investigation into the early-morning Jan. 20 shooting that claimed the life of 34-year-old Christopher “Chris” Strickland.

On Thursday, TCSO Chief Chuck Mincy was able to confirm that investigators are treating the case as a homicide investigation and that all parties – including a “person of interest” in the shooting – have been identified.
