Sailing around a bend in the Steinhatchee River, Jim and Susan Pattison Merritt saw a welcome sight – their aunt Rhoda Moehring’s dock.
A few smooth maneuvers later, and the couple’s “Gypsy” PDQ catamaran glided into position. Feet back on solid ground, they were ready to share tales of their grand adventure… a nearly year-long “Great Loop” journey that started in Stuart (Fla.) and wound their way up the Atlantic Coast, across Canada and down the Mississippi.
