School district faces $250,000 shortfall

The Taylor County School District will likely need to find an estimated $250,000 or more in budget cuts or savings in order to abide by a new school board policy requiring the district to have a certain amount of unrestricted budget funds for the upcoming budget year.

Finance Director Ashley Valentine gave school board members an update on the Taylor County school district’s current budget situation at a Feb. 5 workshop session.
