Sewer service restored at jail

Taylor County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) officials have restored sewage service to the Taylor County Jail after showers and restrooms were temporarily restricted for several days due to clogged lines caused by inmates flushing articles of clothing and linens.

According to TCSO Maj. Marty Tompkins the jail’s sewer system began backing up over the weekend and maintenance crews later discovered the cause to be an orange jumpsuit, sheets, towels and other articles of clothing obstructing the line.
