Fred J. Cash, born April 22, 1934, in Sheridan, Ark., went home to be with Jesus Feb. 7, 2019, after an extended illness. He was 84 years old.

The youngest of 18, he was preceded in death by 15 brothers and sisters and a stepson, Frank Thompson. The two of 18 siblings now surviving are Earnestine Sanders (JB) of Fayetteville, Ark., and Trudy Carlton (Slick) of Perry, Fla.  He is also survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Shirley A. Brandt Cash and his children Sandra Thayer (Dale) of Freeport, IL, Darrell Cash of Boise, ID, Terry Whorton (Glenn) of Perry, FL, Treva Wilson (Larry) of Marysville, CA, Ty Cash (Debbie) of Meridian, ID, Tod Cash(Renee) of Lathrop, CA; 24 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren.

Cash faithfully attended Faith Baptist Church for many years until his illness.

A mechanic by trade, he made sure his family drove safe dependable vehicles by spending many hours under the hood.  He retired from Southern Pacific/Union Pacific Railroad where he worked as a machinist, a job he dearly loved.

Cash loved his wife and family and always wanted the very best for them. He prayed for his family continually and was most concerned with their spiritual health. He prayed always that they would be Christian and join him one day in Heaven.

Cash always saw the best in every person and made each person feel as though they were first on his mind.  He loved spending time with his family; talking, telling stories and jokes, laughing and playing games.

Being born on a farm and working there his entire childhood, Cash loved to grow vegetables, plants, flowers and his gardens were the envy of all who saw/enjoyed them. Fishing was also a love of his, and he enjoyed sharing that with anyone who would join him, especially his family.

He will be remembered at Faith Baptist Church on Highway 19 N. in Perry, Fla., on Saturday Feb. 16th at 5:00 p.m. Please come and help us celebrate his glorious going home.

In lieu of flowers, Cash asked that you donate to the Jubilee Fund at Faith Baptist Church in Perry.
