One year after 17 people were killed and another 17 wounded during a mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, school officials are taking steps to make sure local schools are safe.
The Taylor County School District is in the process of implementing and installing a long list of additional safety features after receiving a $100,000 “Safety and Security of School Buildings Program” grant from the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) on Dec. 18, 2018.
