The Big Bend Brewfest is coming to town

    Posted on February 27, 2019

Whether you’re more of a porter guy or an IPA gal, there will be something for everyone at this weekend’s Big Bend Brewfest.

The second annual event will be held Saturday, March 2, from 5-8 p.m. at Rosehead Park.

The Big Bend Brewfest is sponsored by the Perry Rotary Club and offers unlimited tastings of different beers to raise funds for the Perry Police Department’s “Shop With a Cop” Program, as well as the Rotary Club Foundation, Rotary scholarships and other Rotary civic projects throughout the county and the world.

“It’s kind of like a wine-tasting,” Chamber of Commerce Director Dawn Taylor said. “It’s an opportunity to try new things and new flavors you may have never tried before.”

Craft beer will be the focus of the festival, with many beer styles represented, including pale ales, IPAs, porters, stouts, wheats, ambers and lagers.

Some of the breweries participating include: Goose Island, Oyster City Brewing Company, Cigar City Brewing, Oskar Blues Brewery, Crooked Can Brewing Company, First Magnitude Brewing Company, Motorworks Brewing, Proof Brewing Company, Funky Buddha Brewery, Tampa Bay Brewing Company, Grayton Beer Company, Seven Hills Brewing and Three Daughters Brewing.

The festival will also include giveaways, live music and a deejay, along with food vendors.

Standard admission tickets are $25 and include entry to the festival and unlimited beer tastings.

Organizers anticipate the event being sold out and suggest that participants get their tickets in advance.

No person under 21 years old is allowed at the festival, including Designated Driver ticket holders. All persons must show valid ID at the event entrance, which will be staffed by local law enforcement officers.
