School board seeks to avoid Festival-Homecoming conflict

The Taylor County School Board has agreed to re-draft a resolution that would direct school staff to attempt to avoid scheduling homecoming the same week as the annual Florida Forest Festival.

Festival board member Mark Viola and 2019 Festival Chairman Jack Smith appeared before the school board Tuesday, Jan. 22 to request the official policy change after the annual Taylor County High School (TCHS) Homecoming week activities and football game coincided with festival week in 2018.
