Head down to Rosehead Park Saturday, March 16, and join fellow community members in celebrating Taylor County’s 2nd annual Big Bend Brewfest.
Originally scheduled for Saturday, March 2, the festival was rescheduled for Saturday, March 16 — just in time for St. Patrick’s Day.
The event will be held at the same time as originally scheduled, from 5-8 p.m. at Rosehead Park. VIP ticketholders will be admitted at 4 p.m.
The postponement came after Tri-Eagle Sales and a few other visiting brewers told local Big Bend Brewfest organizers that they would not be able to travel to Perry due to inclement weather, according to Chamber Director Dawn Taylor.
“We as organizers apologize for the inconvenience, but the decision was beyond our control,” Taylor said. “Brewers said that traveling several hours could be risky.”
All pre-purchased tickets will be honored at the rescheduled event.
The Big Bend Brewfest is a Rotary Club of Perry event that offers unlimited tastings of different beers to raise funds to donate to the Perry Police Department’s “Shop With a Cop” Program and to the Rotary Club Foundation, Rotary scholarships and other Rotary civic projects throughout the county and the world.
In addition to unlimited beer tastings, the event will also feature giveaways, live music and a deejay, along with food vendors.
“We have several different food vendors, crafters with t-shirts, jewelry, BBQ, boiled peanuts, kettle corn and we’re looking at a mac and cheese food truck that couldn’t come to the last one,” Taylor said.
Standard admission tickets are $25 and include entry to the festival and unlimited beer tastings.
No person under 21 years old is allowed at the festival, including Designated Driver ticket holders. All persons must show valid ID at event entrance.
