Wanted man jailed after 4-hour chase

A Perry man wanted on two outstanding felony warrants led officers on a nearly four-hour chase Monday afternoon before being apprehended in the Taco Heights subdivision off Old Dixie Highway.

Mitchell Dewayne Mims, 33, had scratches on his head and was covered in dirt from running through the woods when he was taken into custody and transported to the Taylor County Jail. He is being held without bond on two probation violation warrants (possession of a controlled substance and dealing in stolen property/trafficking) and a third charge of resisting an officer.
