Railroad officials reportedly informed the city Tuesday that the crossing at Center Street was supposed to re-open Thursday after being closed for more than a week for repairs.
However, railroad work crews were not on-site as promised and the road — one of two main arteries for downtown Perry — remained closed to traffic as of presstime. City officials reported that railroad representatives said crews were expected at the site today (Friday, March 29).
