Team of doctors overseeing Rice’s care in ICU burn unit

Burn victim Aiden Rice, 11, has undergone a series of surgeries and procedures since arriving at Shriners Hospital for Children in Galveston, Texas, last week, and faces up to nine months of hospitalization.

The Taylor County Elementary School student was flown by private jet to the Texas hospital after sustaining burns to more than 70 percent of his body as the result of an apparent accident near a bonfire at a neighbor’s home March 19. The Taylor County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) is investigating the incident.
