Superheroes to the rescue at BBTC on Friday, April 12

    Posted on April 5, 2019

Taylor County’s league of superheroes will take over Big Bend Community College (BBTC) Friday, April 12, for the annual Relay for Life.

The five-hour event – which is celebrating a superhero theme – will begin at 5 p.m. with opening ceremonies and the Survivors Lap. All cancer survivors and caretakers are encouraged to attend.

The 2019 Relay For Life Ambassador is Tim Brown, a welding instruction at BBTC.

Participating teams will be offering a variety of food and activities, with all proceeds benefiting the American Cancer Society.

The Taylor County Historical Society’s team is currently selling 50/50 chances; tickets are available at Rain’s Train Stop Flower Shop (located in the Old Depot in downtown Perry).

Luminaria forms are also available at Rain’s and by calling volunteer Brenda Carlton at (850) 371-1061.
