Newly crowned Miss Tahiti 2013 has Taylor County ties

When Mehiata Riaria, 21, was crowned Miss Tahiti 2013 during glittering ceremonies held June 28, the celebration extended across the globe with her aunt, Hinano Yon, and her cousin, Tanya O’Neal, both of Perry, leading the cheers.

Riaria is the daughter of Yon’s brother, Joel Riaria and his wife, Clordina. Riaria will now advance to the Miss France competition planned for December.
