In an effort to help school administrators and transportation department officials find coverage for employees who are out sick or on leave, the Taylor County School Board has agreed to increase substitute’s pay by 10 to 30 cents per hour.
At its March 19 meeting, the school board voted 4-1 in favor of a recommendation by Superintendent of Schools Dr. Danny Glover Jr. that will increase the hourly pay rate 10 cents per hour for substitute bus drivers, 25 cents per hour for instructional and non-instructional teacher substitutes and 30 cents per hour for bus aide substitutes.
