Republicans back Shoaf at the polls

Port St. Joe business owner Jason Shoaf beat out three other Republican candidates on Tuesday to secure the GOP nomination and advance to a June 18 special election to face a Democratic challenger for the vacant State House District 7 seat.

About 49% of the 9,618 GOP voters who turned out supported Shoaf, who will now face the lone Democrat in the race, Ryan Terrell, a 26-year-old political activist from Tallahassee.
