    Teachers: ‘Elevate’ our salaries

    School Board Attorney Angela Ball and Superintendent of Schools Dr. Danny Glover, Jr. chat just prior to the start of Tuesday’s meeting, when dozens of teachers crowded into the school board meeting room in a show of support for local instructional union officials who expressed their desire for the district to raise teacher salaries as part of ongoing negotiations.

    Approximately 50 local teachers packed the Taylor County School Board room Tuesday night, many wearing matching “No Teacher Left Behind” t-shirts, as members of the Taylor Education Association (TEA) told board members that local educators feel disrespected and under-appreciated.

    Several times during the meeting, teachers stood to help illustrate points made by speakers.
