Mrs. Sharon “Kitten” Ellen Grantham, 61, passed away on April 19, 2019, in Perry. Sharon was born July 10, 1957, at the fire tower in Salem, Fla., to Mr. Halbert Mikel Grantham and Mrs. Sallie Lee Grantham.
Sharon was a corrections officer with the Taylor Co. Sheriff’s Office over a period of 13 years. She was well known in the community for her work with 4H, a Sharpshooter Instructor, an NRA and hunter safety instructor, a lifetime member of National Wild Turkey Federation, an avid hunter and outdoors woman and a conservationist. She was also known for her wild shenanigans and her gypsy soul. And she was crazy about her girls and her grandbabies.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents Mr. Halbert and Sallie Grantham and her brother Terry Wayne Grantham.
She is survived by three children Becky Strickland (Lee), Bry Hedricks, and Lindsey Shaw Murray (Scott), grandchildren David Miles, Levi Strickland, Chris Hedricks, Jeremy Hedricks, William Hedricks; Emerson “Maynard” Murray, two great grandchildren Mason Lawson and Sawyer Lawson, one sister Sallie “Monkey” Grantham as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at 5:00 p.m. at Joe P. Burns Funeral Home with Bro. Cricket Watson officiating. All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Perry. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Taylor Co. Special Olympics.
