Jackie M. Underwood

Jackie M. Underwood (Jack), born Nov. 3, 1943, and passed away on April 23, 2019. He was an Army veteran from 1960 to 1966 and retired from Taylor County Sheriff’s Department. 

Underwood is survived by his spouse, Margaret Dillon Underwood; children, Thomas (Tucker) Evans, Barry Underwood (Dawn Underwood), Melissa Burch (Kevin Bergholtz); siblings, Mae Deb Rushing, Sue Bigbie, Melanie Bennett (Richard Bennett), seven grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great  nieces and many close friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Solon Underwood, his mother, Hazel Underwood, and his brother Barrett Underwood (Beau).

Services will be at New Home Baptist Church, Perry on Friday, April 26, 2019, at 2 p.m. Contributions can be made to the Shriners Children Hospitals to honor him. Arrangements have been entrusted to Emerald Coast Funeral Home, Fort Walton Beach, Fla.
