    Lenora W. McMillan

    Lenora W. McMillan, of Perry passed away April 26, 2019 at home surrounded by her family after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born February 10, 1938, in Perry, the daughter of the late James Phillip and Lois Ione (Gunter) Whiddon.


    Lenora graduated from Taylor County High School, Class of 1958. She moved to Savannah, Ga., in 1960 where she raised her two beautiful daughters. She worked at K-Mart Corporation in Savannah, Ga. and Perry. Later in life, she returned home to care for her parents and eventually retired from K-Mart after 25 years.


    Lenora was a spiritual woman and was a member of Westside Baptist Church. She truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; music, square dancing, going to concerts with friends, and taking care of her flowers.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Tyrone Eugene Whiddon of Perry and her daughter Susan Ann Beasley of Ellabell, GA.

    She is survived by her daughter, Lynne Tischler and husband, Mike of Austin, Texas, son in-law, Mark Beasley of Springfield, Ga.; seven grandchildren Christy deClairmont, Brandon Bowen, Mark Ashley Beasley, Matthew Christopher Beasley; Andrew, Jody and Justin Tischler; and one great-Granddaughter Ashley Gracelyn Beasley. She is also survived by her sister, Andrea Dorman and husband, John of Perry and four nephews, Anthony, John, Lincoln and James Eric Dorman.


    The family will receive friends April 28, 2019, from 1-2 pm at Joe P. Burns Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held at Carlton Cemetery immediately following at 2:30 pm with Pastor Jeff Stading officiating. Interment will follow.
