In the midst of monitors, cords and too many “get well” cards to count is what appears to be more gauze than boy.
Red tape lines the floor around Aiden Rice’s bed, signaling to nurses and visitors they must wash their hands and don gloves and a hospital gown before coming any closer. After having more than 10 surgeries in less than seven weeks, he can’t risk contracting an infection.
