County seeks firms for rail upgrade

The Taylor County Commission is seeking firms to conduct construction, engineering and inspection (CEI) services for $17 million in upgrades to the Georgia & Florida Railway (GFRR) that will be partially funded through an $8.6 million federal grant.

The commission approved a request for proposals (RFP) at its Monday meeting, and the resulting proposals will be opened at the board’s June 18 meeting.
