FWC adopts final scallop season schedule

The annual scallop season will continue to open on June 15 off much of the Taylor County coast for the foreseeable future, after the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) approved a permanent season structure beginning next year in 2020.

This year’s season, which was set by FWC executive order, will run June 15 through Sept. 10 for the area located south of the Fenholloway River (including the Beaches area and Steinhatchee) and will be open July 1 through Sept. 24 north of the Fenholloway River.
